Colin Kaepernick was really an unknown talent when he made his first start as a second-year player with the 49ers in 2012. He had to wait unit November of that year, but when he got his chance, the Nevada product made it count.

Kaepernick’s running style has been described as “gazelle like,” but he only scrambled for 10 yards in his debut. Like Griffin, he impressed with his arm, completing 16-of-23 passes for 242 yards and two scores as San Francisco handed Chicago a 32-7 defeat. Kaepernick went on to lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl,  where the 49ers came up short to the Ravens.

Also like Griffin, Kaepernick is struggling to find consistent success in the NFL, as he hasn’t thrown for over 200 yards in four of his last five starts.

Kaepernick also hasn’t been that speculator on the ground this fall, as he has zero rushing touchdowns. He scored five after he was inserted as the started in 2012.
