By the time Steve Young was leading the 49ers to playoff appearances in the mid-to-late 1990s, he was one of the NFL’s top passers, leading the league in completion percentance four straight seasons from 1994-1997.

But Young ranks third all-time in total rushing yards by a quarterback with 4,239 yards.

Young’s first start came with the lowly Buccaneers in the 12th game of the 1985 campaign. Young completed 16-0f-27 passes for 167, but added 60 more  on the ground on 10 carries.

The Hall of Famer rushed for at least 150 yards in each of his first 14 seasons in the NFL.
