With Josh Barfield failing to live up to expectations, Tribe Town got introduced to a young prospect named Asdrubal Cabrera, who played a major role handling the second-base duties en route to the Indians’ 2007 Central Division title.
At 21 years old, Cabrera brought a spark to the club while posting a .775 OPS in 186 plate appearances.
He later moved on to shortstop, but in that memorable 2007 season, Cabrera saved the second-base spot for the Indians.
