Can Terrelle Pryor Really Make An Impact?

Most Browns fans would agree the receiving corps is improved from last year, but the unit is still without a standout playmaker.

And it’s unreasonable to think Pryor is going to walk in on day one and be an elite receive, but judging by his social media platforms, he looks the part.

OK, it’s easy to get caught up in practice video when there’s not a safety and corner ready to crack your head open when you’re going over the middle, but Pryor’s physical attributes warrant the Browns attention.

He may not be starting in Week 1, Week 8, or Week 16, but if he can find other ways to contribute, say on special teams, he’s a player worth developing…and Mike Pettine knows what a versatile athlete can do for a team.

While defensive coordinator with the Jets, Pettine saw Brad Smith be effective as a receiver, return man and wildcat quarterback. Smith scored 13 touchdowns and at 31, is still in the NFL with the Eagles.

“I see some similarities there, explosive athlete that made the transition and was able to help out the team in a lot of different ways,” Pettine said, via ClevelandBrowns.com.
