New York Jets Defense

On the opposite side is where the Jets plan to make their money. The Jets will be one of the greatest defenses we face this year. Coming off of his world championship is the leader of the Jets defense, Darrelle Revis. It’d be an insult to your common NFL fan’s knowledge explaining how good Revis is. Just know he’s the best corner back in the league and a future Hall of Famer. So in short Revis is really good, we don’t want to throw his way.

The Browns already have issues throwing the ball to begin with, and having Revis playing against them will only make things much worse. Alongside Revis is Antonio Cromartie who is a great number two CB. A familiar face to Browns fans is Buster Skrine, who will likely be playing the nickel spot.

While many Browns fans gave Skrine a lot of crap last year, I thought he wasn’t a bad second CB at all. While his lack of height causes him to struggle a bit at that position, I think he will be great at nickel playing against our slot receivers.

Skrine might have given up some big plays last year, but he also had 18 pass deflections and 4 Interceptions for the Brown and Orange in 2014. Say what you want about Skrine, but you don’t get those stats handed to you. Skrine can play and I’m not all that excited to play opposite of him on Sunday.

While the guys up front for the Jets aren’t as good as their defensive backfield, their front seven is no joke either. The players up front for the Jets includes returning inside linebacker Demario Davis who recorded 116 Tackles and 3.5 sacks last year and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, who recorded 56 Tackles, 6 sacks and 5 pass deflections for in 2014.One of the newer faces for New York is the sixth pick in the 2015 draft, defensive end Leonard Williams.

Williams was regarded by many as the best player in this past year’s draft. In his career at the University of Southern California, Williams recorded 138 tackles (27 or loss), 14 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and an interception. Williams was a force for the USC defense and the Jets hope to be able to harness that power to add on to an already great Jets defense.
