The Beatdown Will Come Early

How about this? When WMU plays a an FBS opponent, they’ve been outscored 50-19 in the first half. The Broncos hung up 52 (24 first-half points) on Murray State (FCS) in Week 3, so that number would be skewered if the entire schedule is taken into the sample.

But it shouldn’t be…because Ohio State isn’t just a premier FBS program, The Ohio State University IS the THE FBS program everyone else wants to be.

With everyone obsessing over Meyer’s decision at quarterback, and columinists suggesting the offense is ignoring Ezekiel Elliott, it would’t be a surprise to see Myer and his new offensive coordinator hit the gas right form the opening kickoff.

The Buckeyes certainly have the power to get it done.

The argument could be made that the Broncos could have second-half success if the Buckeyes “ease up” in the second half by playing reserves.

In theory that makes sense–but this Buckeyes team is a reality no one wants to confront. If Cardale has a successful first half, don’t you think J.T. Barrett is going to want to come in and inflate his own stats? What about Curtis Samuel at running back, and Dontre Wilson at receiver?

These guys have something to prove.

The Buckeyes are two-deep at almost every position. A WMU second-half surge seems unlikely.
