Remember what Jalin Marshall did last season again Indiana? Well the only thing that should be different about last season, and this Saturday, is that the Middletown, Ohio native will be wearing a different number while presumably running past would-be Hoosier tacklers.

As a red-shirt freshman in 2014, Marshall returned a punt 54 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and then added three late insurance scores en route to a 42-27 Buckeye victory in a contest that was closer than the score indicates.

So, what’s behind the number change?

Marshal wants to wear No. 7 because that’s the number he wore while quarterbacking the Middletown Middies during his prep days.

“(Jalin) is starting to grow through the immaturity he experienced when he first got here,” Urban Meyer said Tuesday on the Big Ten coaches teleconference, via The Plain Dealer. “I like the trajectory he’s on right now.”

After missing the first game of the season because of suspension, Marshall has been a little slow in living up to the expectations placed on him entering 2015.

But with his first touchdown reception coming against Western Michigan In Week 4, Marshall looks poised to breakout–just as he did a season ago against the Hoosiers.
