It’s easy to say the Buckeyes should’ve clobbered the likes of Western Michigan and Northern Illinois, and while the wins weren’t perfect, they still count as victories–and that’s what is is important as long as Ohio State stays undefeated.
Was the Buckeyes’ win against NIU disappointing? Sure. The score had no business being that close. But when OSU needed to show up, and show out against Virginia Tech during the season opener, Urban Meyer’s crew did just that. Perhaps playing lesser opponents was a bit of a letdown, and Big Ten play will be the medicine that gets Ohio State trending in the right direction toward a second straight national title.
