4) Will the Cavs Use Their Trade Exceptions?
Yes, absolutely. Dan Gilbert has shown that he is willing to spend and shatter every luxury tax record in the NBA to win a title. He has deep pockets and this team will more than make him his money back. If there is a need, Gilbert will give GM David Griffin the green light to go into the trade market and find a player the Cavs need.
But who will it be? There are a handful of players that fit into the trade exceptions (Nick Young, Jared Sullinger, and Evan Turner immediately come to mind), but it will all depend on need and availability. Maybe one of the Morris twins if there is a need for a combo forward. Maybe a guard somewhere if yet another injury hits the backcourt losses of Sumpert and Irving. But it is far too early to tell what this team needs. You better believe, though, that the front office will go get someone if it comes down to it.
