Whomever Plays QB

It’s a safe bet the Browns will be looking at quarterback come draft day, and Jackson is the ideal coach to groom the Browns’ next signal caller.

Whomever takes snaps in Cleveland will be playing for a coach that understands you need playmakers. Jackson saw first hand how a big-time receiver such as A.J. Green made life easier for Andy Dalton in Cincinnati.

Much has been made about what Jackson’s early work with Joe Flacco, and later with Andy Dalton the past few years in Cincinnati, but his work with A.J. McCarron should be noted, too. With Dalton out due to injury, McCarron had the Bengals on the cusp of a playoff victory during the NFL’s Wild Card weekend.

The second-year pro wasn’t a world beater, but he hardly looked like a deer in the headlights, either. McCarron exhibited poise, and eventually connected on a late touchdown with A.J. Green that should have been the winning score.

Jackson was the one implementing the game plan with McCarron, and while the player deserves a lot of the credit, Jackson is deserving as well, for having his man ready to play.
