Cleveland Browns: 10 Players Who Should Not Be Back In ’16
By Ryan Rosko
5. Terrelle Pryor
Pryor could not even play regularly for the Cleveland Browns despite their glaring need of play-makers. How is there a potential assumption that he has a future in Cleveland?
Currently nothing is contract binding between the organization and player, so Cleveland is already free to move on Pryor. His season totals were one reception for 42 yards and one rushing attempt for -1 yard, which is far from acceptable.
Pryor’s athleticism is what has made teams have interest, with the versatility to play multiple positions being a plus. Cleveland’s signing of Pryor this season was a buy low approach. Even if Cleveland had stability at quarterback, that would not have helped Pryor’s chances of success.
If Pryor had been able to get onto the field and his production would have been better in 2015, perhaps he could have been viewed as a possible starting wide receiver down the line. Pryor’s size is great, but he has not been the only player with size which Cleveland needs. Despite being 6’6, he certainly did not play like it.
Going forward, it is hard to imagine the Browns getting any positive contributions from Pryor.
