Round 4. More Play-making Offensive Talent Is Added

. Wide Receiver. Southeast Missouri State. Paul McRoberts. 138. player. 53

McRoberts gives the Cleveland Browns another red zone threat as Cleveland continues to add size to the offensive play-making positions. McRoberts displayed his athletic ability on both the football field and basketball court (during the 2013 season) in college.

McRoberts was not invited to the 2016 NFL Combine, which should motivate him even more as he heads into his rookie season. McRoberts is an above average blocker. As he heads to the next level, McRoberts needs to use his size to his advantage regularly. Even though McRoberts made plenty of plays, taking his play to another level (more separation, break more tackles most notably) should happen and it will benefit his game.

Outside of Gary Barnidge, no other player could be relied on consistently in 2015 and he is not even a wide receiver! Cleveland is now getting players who can not only be on the positive side of mismatches, but they can now also air the ball out regularly.

Should Gordon get to play again this season, he, along with Boyd, McRoberts, Brian Hartline, and Andrew Hawkins is a wide receiver core that both fans and the organization can work with and be excited about! The Cleveland Browns offensive talent has been very bare, but now they are  starting to have quality talent.

If enough players can make an impact in the passing game, then Cleveland should improve much sooner. Their opponents in the AFC North have solid defensive backfields, but now it is an even playing field with players like Gordon, Boyd, and McRoberts lining up for Cleveland.
