Adding To The Offense Continues

The Philadelphia Eagles/Cleveland Browns trade is the most sensible thing to do — especially if both North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz and California quarterback Jared Goff are not to the Browns liking! I do not believe either is worth the second pick in the draft and it seems that the new front office agrees.

Now the question is who to draft at number eight? Thankfully, the Cleveland Browns did not get out of the top 10 and they can still get a possible starter. I hope Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is still available at eight, but I have my doubts.

Also, Jalen Ramsey will also likely be off the board. Maybe UCLA linebacker Myles Jack is a fit? On the other hand, the Browns need to put some weapons on the field for Robert Griffin III and Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell or TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson would be my choice.

I just hope the Cleveland Browns do not trade down again as the talent takes a step backward after 10. Cleveland has reached before in past drafts and failed miserably! It is time to give this fan base some hope and make the right choice.

The Cleveland Browns go full-blown boring, trade down to 15th overall, and drafts an offensive lineman. This is my bold prediction because it is also my biggest fear. I have nothing against offensive linemen, but you also need players who can score.

Look at how our running game fared under former head coach Mike Pettine. The Browns–and at times, me–were naive enough to think that they could dominate the rushing attack with Isaiah Crowell, Duke Johnson and pick-me-ups like Robert Turbin. Duke and the Crow are fine players and Johnson has a future as a third-down back. Yet, the point is no one scares me on this team. If the running backs had done their jobs, the Browns would not have set their single-season record for passing attempts.

Take Ezekiel Elliott. I do not care if he went to OSU. I would say the same thing if he went to Clemson. Cleveland needs to improve the offense so add weapons! Give me a reason to stay interested!
