Acquiring NFL Ready Talent Is Nice, But Would Not Happen

Ryan Rosko

The Cleveland Browns are not going to trade Josh Gordon, but if they did draft picks would be their return. As great as it would be to acquire NFL talent for Gordon, that is unrealistic.

The cautious approach by potential interested teams is logical, but do they really believe Gordon is on the move? Potentially, and he very much could be regardless of what the Browns are saying.

Still, if Gordon had to be dealt, acquiring anything lower than a second round pick would be a waste of time. To an extent, a third round pick could be worth considering, but that is the lowest any return should be.

There is not a set price for a player like Gordon because of his off the field issues. Not many players are dealt with similar circumstances. Even though Gordon has the potential to be one of the best at his position, the chances of a high pick being dealt is small.

Gordon was impressive in his preseason debut. Starting off on a great start should do wonders for he and the Browns. As long as he takes care of business on the field and stays away from distractions, Gordon has a bright future in Cleveland.
