3. It’s time for another offensive coaching intervention

As our own Ryan Rosko noted in his piece on Sunday, offensive coordinators are like quarterbacks. When you have two of them, you have none of them. The way the offense has struggled is reminiscent of how the same group limped into and out of the 2015 loss to Sparty.

An offensive shake up of sorts is needed. No, nobody needs to be fired. Urban Meyer just needs to make some adjustments like he did last season.

It’s hard to pinpoint the issue. While this very piece argued earlier that the inexperience of the offense is the main culprit, that same inexperience hasn’t hurt the Silver Bullet nearly as much. There has been a disconnect ever since Tom Herman left for Houston.

More from Factory of Sadness

Tim Beck wasn’t able to recreate the same offensive magic and with both he and Ed Warriner in the booth, things appeared to improve. But with a young group in need of a heavier game-day push, someone needs to get back down on the sidelines.

Should someone get moved downstairs, it should be Beck. Warriner’s replacement along the offensive line, Greg Studrawa, is already on the sidelines and is very active in coaching up his unit.

Beck, however, has more experience working with quarterback and skill position players, the exact groups that are obviously not on the same page. With another top-10 battle just two weeks away against Nebraska, it now or never to make the move.
