Jon Jay, CF

If Rajai Davis is out of the Indians’ price range, perhaps the front office could look at free agent Jon Jay.

Jay missed two months with a fractured forearm and was limited to just 90 games for the San Diego Padres. When he did play, Jay compiled a .291/.339/.389 slash line.

He plays center field and could bat lead off. Once upon time, Jay could steal a base, swiping 19 bags during the 2012 campaign. He has 18 TOTAL since then, but you’d have to wonder if he could be more a threat playing the run-happy Indians.

Jay should fall within the Indians price range, as he’s missed significant time during the past two seasons.

He’s not someone you want to build your outfield around, but he does offer insurance and buys Bradley Zimmer a little more time in the minor leagues until the top prospect is ready to take over in center.
