The Ohio State Buckeyes won a thrilling game as the Voice of the Fan broke down today’s game.

“The Game” started with Ohio State kicking to that team up north. Unfortunately, the Wolverines team had some ball movement but punted on their first sessions. OSU in turn missed a field goal in their first possession.

Both teams were being conservative with the play-calling. It seemed the same old story was on-going again with Buckeye receivers. The wideouts had trouble getting off press coverage all afternoon!

Both teams punt on their next tries as they move a little down the field. That said, the team up north moved into the red zone and on third and goal from the three Sam Hubbard striped up Jabrill Peppers on a run to the right as Malik Hooker cleaned it up.

They settle for a field goal as the scoring commenced. The very conservative play calling and inability to uncover from the Wolverine corners hurt the Buckeyes. Their running game did not doing much since after the first series.

More from Factory of Sadness

Barrett regularly hurried his throws and did not seeing the whole field. His throws were high to open players and started to get happy feet in the pocket. He needed to settle down!

Ohio State’s defense ultimately stepped up as Raekwon McMillan hurried the QB which resulted in a pick six by Hooker to put OSU up seven to three. On the play, Hooker set the record for pick sixes in a season.

Unfortunately, the Wolverines scored a touchdown after a 45-yard kick off return by Peppers prior to halftime to give them a 10-7 lead.

At this time, it looked like the game would be one-sided. From inside the Buckeyes’ red zone, the Wolverines scored another touchdown to go up 17-7. The way it looked by coach Urban Meyer on the sideline showed that he was more surprised than Michigan on the play! He really wasn’t happy.

Barrett was not playing up to expectations at this point. If he did not start playing better, along with the the offensive line, this could get ugly!

Ohio State’s defense did it again with another interception, this time by Jerome Baker in Michigan territory; Subsequent a rushing touchdown by Mike Weber was the end result with a 17-14 Wolverines lead.

After two punts from Michigan and one from Ohio State, the Buckeyes drove inside the Wolverines’ 15 and Weber ended up running for a first down on fourth and inches. However, Tyler Durbin subsequently then missed his second field goal.

Shortly later, the Buckeyes drove the field again and had to settle for another field goal. Luckily, this Durbin finally made one with one second left to the game at 17 forcing overtime.

Both teams converted for touchdowns in the first overtime, with Michigan accomplishing the feat on fourth down. Fortunately, the Buckeyes held Michigan to a field goal. As far as the Buckeyes’ following drive, on fourth down and one Ohio State got first down on a Barrett run.
