3. Houston Astros, 55 seasons.

The Houston Astros have really had a rough go of things. But the last couple years things have turned around for the Astros.

You’d have to go back to 2005  though, because that was the last time Houston really even had the chance to win it all, instead getting swept by the Chicago White Sox.

Now however, the Astros are in the American League and have turned their luck around. Making the Wild Card in 2015, and finishing over .500 in 2016 but just missing the playoffs. This year should be much of the same. Despite the Astros being in one of the tougher divisions in baseball. The Astros, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners should all be able to compete for the top spot in the AL West.

This offseason the Astros added a few key pieces in free agency with Carlos Beltran, Brian McCann and Josh Reddick. These experienced veterans will be able to help younger guys like Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, and Dallas Keuchel.

If the Astros escape the West, they’ll be forced to deal with the likes of the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox, who are heavy favorites in the AL.
