5. Seattle Mariners, 40 seasons

For a team that has never even been to a World Series, the Mariners have one of the most winningest seasons in MLB history.

The 2001 Seattle Mariners finished with a record of 116-46, but failed to do anything in the postseason. Losing 4-1 to the defending champs New York Yankees in the ALCS.

The 1995 squad, which featured Edgar MartinezKen Griffey JrRandy Johnson and Jay Buhner advanced to the ALCS, but fell to the Indians, 4 games to 2.

With familiar names such as Bret Boone, Edgar Martinez, Alex Rodriguez, Ichiro Suzuki, Ken Griffey Jr, Randy Johnson and Jamie Moyer Seattle was never able to put all the pieces together at the right time.

Now with guys like Robinson Cano, Felix Hernandez, and Nelson Cruz the Mariners are trying to turn things around in 2017.

In the offseason Seattle added Jean Segura, Jarrod Dyson, and Danny Valencia. The Mariners are looking to make some noise in a division as tough as the AL West.
