Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns

The Browns need to keep Terrelle Pryor because if he walks, Cleveland’s receiving corps will take a significant step back.

If Pryor leaves, the Browns will be left with unproven 2016 No. 15 overall pick Corey Coleman, in addition to later-round picks Rashard Higgins and Ricardo Louis. Not one of the three wideouts did much to breed confidence in the front office among the fan base.

Some may debate whether Pryor is worth the big contract he’ll likely get. Pryor’s former Ohio State and Browns teammate Brian Hartline publicly wondered if Pryor was a true No. 1 wideout.

It’s a fair conversation to have, but when you consider Pryor was playing in just his first season as a full-time receiver, his future certainly appears bright.

That’s especially true when you consider Pryor eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark playing with a revolving door of quarterbacks that included Robert Griffin III, Cody Kessler, Josh McCown, Charlie Whitehurst and Kevin Hogan.

Considering the position the Browns are in, they have no choice but to pay Pryor.

It’s something they should be happy to do. The organization found Pryor, developed him and committed to him as a wide receiver. Cleveland can’t afford to let one of their own leave town again.
