A Trade Asset

Apparently, there are some NFL teams interested in acquiring Brock Osweiler from the Cleveland Browns.

These rumors may ramp up if Cleveland’s willing to eat some of Osweiler’s $16 million salary in 2017.

As ESPN’s Dan Graziano noted, the Browns are in a position to spend, and even overspend in an attempt to change the franchise’s fortunes. So if eating half of Osweiler’s contract is something a team wants the Browns to do for another draft pick, it’s a good bet Cleveland’s front office–at the very least–will listen.

At the time the trade was announced, there weren’t a lot of pundits expecting Brock Osweiler to play a down in Cleveland.

Trading Osweiler may be the most likely scenario, especially if you buy what CBS sportswriter Jason La Canfora was tweeting. The always polarizing La Canfora wrote Cleveland is looking to trade Brock for a late round pick in 2017, in addition to a third-round pick in 2018.

You can bet, that if a team agrees to take Osweiler from the Browns, Cleveland will probably be footing some of the bill.
