Luc Mbah a Moute

With Danillo Gallinari Clippers’ bound, Luc Mbah a Moute might be able to be had for the taxpayer mid-level exception.

He opted out of his contract, which would’ve paid him a little over $2 million, so the MLE would at least provide the nine-year veteran with a raise.

Mbah a Moute, who is is 30, may find a multi-year offer because he’s coming off his most efficient offensive season (58.1 percent true shooting percentage).

The UCLA product averaged 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game during the 2016-2017 campaign. He started 76 games and  played 22.3 minutes a night.

What makes Mbah a Moute really intriguing? He fits right into the Cavs’ needs of “3 and D,” meaning he can connect from downtown and he can be a force on the other end of the court.

Mbah a Moute was a 39.5 percent shooter from 3-point territory last season and he’d instantly become the Cavaliers’ best wing defender not named LeBron James.
