Sir’Dominic Pointer, SG

Sir’Dominic Pointer is playing in his second summer league with the Cavs.

Cleveland acquired his rights by making Pointer the 53 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

He spent his first pro season playing with the Canton Charge, but has spent the last two years playing overseas in Turkey.

Why could he make the Cavs? The St. John’s product is 6-foot-6, and plays shooting guard. And in case you haven’t noticed, athletic wings are kind of the rage in the NBA.

No one currently on the Cavaliers bench is safe. Even though the franchise is limited by salary cap restraints, the organization would like to get younger on the bench, especially when you factor in the Cavs trying to dump Iman Shumpert.

While overseas, Pointer cut his teeth defensively. He became so good at the art of defense, he earned accolades for his effort.

Plus, he can score a little bit.

As a senior at St. John’s, Pointer was recognized with the Haggerty Award, which is given annually to the best college basketball play in New York City.
