Deon King, LB

Deon King has caught the attention of Hue Jackson, enough so that the Browns’ head coach made of point of brining up his name during a media scrum Aug. 3

The linebacker was credited with a sack on Cody Kessler, according to The OBR’s Fred Greetham. He also should’ve been credit with a sack on the last series with DeShone Kizer under center, but the coaches let the play go on..

King took his coaches praise and went out to show up and show out for the Browns during the Orange and Brown scrimmage Aug. 4.

King didn’t get much of a shot at either of his previous stops. The Dallas Cowboys gave him his first shot, but cut him during the final roster trimming. They signed him to the practice squad, but ended up releasing him two days later.

From there, King went to the Chargers, where he hung around for little over a month. He even got promoted to the active roster Nov. 5. However, his San Diego stint was short lived, as we was released nine days later.

The Colts claimed King off waivers, but ended up releasing him in May, which led to the Browns’ June signing of the Norfolk State signing.
