3. The Hoosiers will be in trouble in a game where turnovers could be the deciding factor.

Out of the gate, the Bucks will have the advantage at the quarterback position. Having a clear advantage at the most important position in football certainly makes the slope that much steeper for the Hoosiers.

Senior quarterback Richard Lagow will be getting the nod for the Hoosiers this week. Lagow threw for the second most yards in the Big Ten last season.

However, Lagow also threw the second most interceptions in the conference. His 17 interceptions were over twice as many as Barrett threw last season.

Turnovers were one of the major problems that the Hoosiers faced last season in their 21-point loss to the Bucks last season. Lagow turned the ball over twice in that game. His first turnover was a fumble on their own 13 yard line in the second quarter which the Bucks quickly turned into seven more points. That mistake turned out to be a key part of the game as the Bucks never ceded the lead from that point on.

As many teams learned the hard way last season, you simply cannot make mistakes against the Buckeyes. The Bucks thrive on ball control and great defense which already looks like a solid bet to continue this season. The Hoosiers won’t stand a chance if Lagow’s tendency to turn the ball over returns against the Bucks.
