5 reasons the Browns will upset the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1
The Crow wants to eat
Isaiah Crowell is getting a lot pub heading into the season, but some are left to wonder if coach Hue Jackson can scale back his beloved passing game to bolster a rushing attack should be excellent.
The Browns dumped mega millions into its offensive line with the additions of guard Kevin Zeitler and center J.C. Tretter.
Future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas is still holding down left tackle and Joel Bitonio is expected to return from his preseason knee injury.
For the Browns to have any chance in this contest, Jackson’s got to put his quarterback in a position to succeed from the pocket, and that means keeping the defense honest with the rushing attack.
Crowell carried the ball just 198 times during the 2016 season, which was 20th among running backs. A lot of that had to do with the Browns playing from behind basically all the time.
He ended up with 952 yards (4.8 yards per carry) through 16 games. He’s also an effective receiver out of the backfield.
Crowell is expected by many in the national media to be a leading candidate for a surprise breakout season. If it’s to happen, and there’s a good chance it will, Crowell will get off on the right track by running all over the Steelers.
