1. Kizer is growing

Give credit to DeShoen Kizer for his performance against the Colts in Week 3. He was coming off a nightmarish performance against the Ravens seven days earlier, and had the Browns in position to win the game.

Remember, even in defeat, the Browns scored 28 points. Don’t take that for granted. The stats say he was 22-of-42 for 242 yards and two touchdowns and three interceptions. He had a QBR of 34.3. Nope, hard to defend these stats, but do remember, Kizer wasn’t helped by his wide receivers, who had, by my count, seven drops.

Kizer led two fourth-quarter scoring drives, hooking up with Kenny Britt for an 11-yard pass, and running the other one in from 1-yard out.

A loss is a loss, but this does show some growth in prospect who was playing in just his third career game.

Now, Kizer’s returning to Cleveland for just his second career home game. He played decently in a game against the Steelers, a squad that boasts a much better defense than that of the Bengals.

Expect Kizer to play in Week 4, that is, if his wide receivers don’t let him down.
