6. Let Isaiah Crowell walk in free agency and draft Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the first, first-round pick

Even with an improved offensive line, Crowell has not looked like himself so far this season. His foot work in the backfield is still sloppy and he has not been able to find any sort of groove.

To make matters worse, Crowell has told those in the media that he wants the ball more (he might not be wrong) and that he wants a new contract. Key words? New contract.

Crowell has not performed well enough to earn a lucrative contract this year. He also may not be worth it for the future. Fellow running back Duke Johnson is much more equipped on passing downs and could would perform just as well in the run game if given the same number of opportunities as Crowell.

As I mentioned earlier, the best way to help a young quarterback is a consistent run game. The clear-cut best running back in this year’s draft class is Barkley. Draft analysts across the country gush about the Penn State product, and personally, I see a stronger version of Buffalo Bills’ LeSean McCoy.

Last year, Barkley dominated the Big 10. The then-sophomore ran for 1,496 yards, 18 touchdowns and caught 28 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns. This year, he is off to an even better start and is the complete package.

Barkley is a unique prospect expected to follow in the footsteps of Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Leonard Fournette as a top five selection. He shows great shiftiness and vision, good speed, and has the power to be an extremely effective inside runner. Barkley is a player who can anchor the Browns rushing attack for the next century. This is a no-brainer pick for them.
