1. The Buckeyes have more momentum coming into this game.

There is just as much of a mental aspect in sports as there is physical. There are certain games where it’s a tough spot depending more on the energy around the team rather than their actual overall strength. In this case, one team is moving up while the other is moving down. It’s all about picking spots especially in college sports where it’s all about momentum.

The Buckeyes have won four consecutive games following a tough loss at home. They’re neither too high on themselves nor too low. On the other end, the Cornhuskers have just lost their third game of the season which ties them for second most losses overall in the conference.

Yes, they’re 2-1 in the division which would put them just one win out of the lead but their most recent loss came at home to their division leader in Wisconsin. The Badgers laid the smack down on them on their home turf to the tune of a 21 point victory. This could very likely have taken some wind out of the sails for the Cornhuskers.

If Nebraska were to get down early, it could get ugly. This is also not a rivalry game for the Cornhuskers as the Buckeyes are a rather unfamiliar opponent from the opposite division. These teams have only matched up five times ever in which Ohio State has won four times. The Cornhuskers haven’t beaten the Bucks since 2011.

Ohio State is feeding off their own momentum because they know that every game counts toward the big picture from here on out. Nebraska could be packing it in without a solid quarterback or an inspiring future. Their greatest resource will be the crowd which requires that they manufacture an early lead. If that’s possible, then the Cornhuskers have a fighting shot at staying in the game.

If not, then the Bucks will make an example of the Cornhuskers just like they did to their last four opponents. At any rate, the Buckeyes’ fans might be get some noise going considering how well they travel as they look to pick up yet another prime time road victory.
