Ernie Camacho, relief
Today’s Tribe fan might not rip off Ernie Camacho‘s name when reciting names of the Indians’ past.
But the combination of a stellar mustache and oversized glasses makes this reliever too good to leave off this team.
Camacho spent half of his big-league career with the Indians, posting his best season in 1984. He logged 69 games that season, with a 2.43 ERA along with 23 saves. He even logged 100 innings that season, which is something you just see from relievers in the modern game.
Camacho was a 12th-round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1975.
He was playing with the Brewers at the time of his trade to Cleveland. Milwaukee traded him, along with slugger Gorman Thomas and Jamie Easterly for Rick Manning in 1983.
