4. Safety Jabrill Peppers finally makes a big play.

It’s been a tough season for the rookie from Michigan to say the least. He is ranked second-to-last among safeties by Pro Football Focus. Peppers has dealt with injuries and has yet to make his presence felt in the return game.

One more thing can be added to the list: He is playing out of position at free safety. Finally, coach Hue Jackson admitted to this statement this week.

However, Peppers addressed the issue himself earlier in the week, saying he does not want to use that as an excuse for his poor play.

"“It’s not the roles. It’s just the play,” Peppers said. “All the bad plays I made was because of me, not because of where I was lined up or the scheme or anything. It was because I didn’t make the play. It’s as simple as that. They put me in positions to make plays. I just have to make the plays. If I make those plays, nobody would be talking about how far back I am or all of the extra stuff.” – Nate Ulrich, Ohio.com"

Now healthy after the bye week, it is time for Peppers to step up. He should start seeing more snaps in the box, which should help him make more plays. However, those will not satisfy many fans who still see his selection as a wasted pick.

An interception or big return would certainly help, though.

The Browns may have found something in the kick return game, after Matthew Dayes had a huge return against the Vikings in Week 8. If they can keep that up, it should give Peppers an opportunity to make a huge play.

Also, with how much Stafford is expected to air it out this weekend, the rookie will be given some more chances to record his first NFL interception.

Do not forget that coach Jackson said Peppers could have an impact on offense as well. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Peppers could see a snap or two in a red zone situation.
