Houston Astros

Jay Bruce is a native of Beaumont, Texas, and the slugger did wonders to raise money for the city of Houston following Hurricane Harvey, which left the area devastated.

Bruce seems like a guy who cares about feel when it comes to his employment, based off this nugget about returning to the Mets, and the World Champion Astros would be a great fit.

That’s why it’s not a surprise to see he wants to pull a LeBron James, and go “home.”

Bruce has been a right fielder throughout his MLB career, but if he’s willing to switch to left, he’d make the World Champion Astros even better.

Left field kind of served as the Mr. Versatility spot during their run to the title. No “name” occupied the position, but that could change if Bruce made the switch.

Keep in mind, the Indians stuck Albert Belle in left field for his Tribe career, so someone such as Bruce, could do it if truly wanted to.

OK, so Bruce would have to make a major position change. That’s not an ideal fit. But his spot in Houston’s lineup? More than ideal. The Astros are loaded with right handers and Bruce would help their lineup by bringing power from the left side.
