Peyton Manning, retired future Hall of Fame QB, Papa John’s franchisee

Hey, you were given five candidates that weren’t Peyton Manning, but it’s impossible to leave him off this list. He just makes too much sense.

Just think about this. If the Browns fail to land Manning, and the losing continues, the organization’s inability to hire Manning will go down as one of the blackest eyes of the decade–and there have been a lot of those!

The perception of everyone on the outside is that Peyton Manning has an offer from Jimmy Haslam to run the Browns. The only thing holding Manning back is the man himself.

Does he want to give up the sweet life as a TV pitchman/SNL Host/future Hall of Famer for the daily grind of running an NFL team?

No one knows, and if you entered a debate, you’d argue yourself silly, because Peyton’s decision could go either way.

He has a relationship with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam that extends back to Manning’s days as college football’s premier quarterback at the University of Tennessee.

Manning would bring instant crediblity to a front office that is viewed by its fan base as a total joke. The ball is in your court, Peyton.
