Cleveland is busy adding to their front seven on defense while also making a move for the future. The Browns have been and will continue to build, but there is no need for a 12 member draft class, which is why they went after value (Sutton) and add to their draft pick total for 2019.

Cleveland moves their sixth and seventh rounders to Green Bay for a 2019 pick.

Now, in terms of this pick, linebacker Skai Moore is an interesting choice. He has dealt with a neck injury/surgery in the past. As a result, he missed the 2016 season. While someone with this background concern provides some hesitancy to draft earlier than expected (especially in a trade up), the reality is that every pick is a risk.

Although Moore played linebacker at South Carolina, I see a hybrid player who plays special teams but also can be a weakside linebacker and a depth option behind Jabrill Peppers as a box safety.

Moore is better served to drop into space and cover than rush the passer. However, make no mistake, he does do a solid job when going after running backs and quarterbacks.

When in a position to tackle, one trait I like to see that Moore has is that he’s a hard-hitting defender. Moore has some potential but it will take time to achieve it. It won’t happen overnight. He needs some development.

While at South Carolina, Moore accumulated 351 tackles, five sacks, 14 interceptions, and six pass deflections.
