5. Quadree Henderson, Pitt

Quadree Henderson would provide the Browns with a much-needed upgrade on special teams, however, he’s not an accomplished wideout leading up to the draft.

Turn in the card: Lance Zierlein wrote Henderson’s ability on special teams would be enough to ensure him an NFL career, but added that his potential as a slot receiver is reason enough to draft him.

He averaged 26.5 yards on kick returns during his three seasons with the Panthers, which resulted in three touchdowns. He averaged 13.4 yards per punt return (two touchdowns).

Not so fast: Henderson is as raw as they come as a receiving prospect, with virtually no production at the position to fall back on, catching just 17 balls last year. His ability to grasp a route tree is even under question until he proves that he can do it.

Final take: When talking about the middle-end of the draft, teams are looking at potential. Few players taken here come to a franchise and start immediately.  It’s enticing to think of Henderson in the Browns lineup, even as a “gadget” player. At the very least, he’ll solve the team’s special teams conundrum that was not answered by Jabrill Peppers a season ago.
