5. Demetrius Monday, CB, Kent State

Projected round: 7th-FA

Demetrius Monday spent his collegiate years playing in the Browns’ backyard as a defensive back at Kent State, and recently, Cleveland got up-close look at the prospect during the team’s local pro day.

At 5-feet-10, 200 pounds, Monday has NFL size and excelled in press-man coverage while playing at Kent.

The concern is whether Monday is fast enough to keep up with NFL corners. According to NFLDraftScout.com, the Georgia native ran a low 40 time of 4.56 seconds, but has a high mark of 4.76 seconds.

Questions about his speed are the reason he’d be a late-round sleeper, but his ability to ball hawk may be a reason you’d put his name on the draft card on day three.

Monday had 12 interceptions in his four year career with the Flashes. Five of those came as a senior, while six came as a sophomore. He didn’t have any picks as a junior, but only played in six gams.

Monday is someone who finds the ball, and because of this characteristic, he’s someone who should be on the Browns radar.
