The outfield
LF: Greg Allen‘s filled in some for Bradley Zimmer in center field and the drop-off defensively is barely noticeable. Like Zimmer, Allen possesses great speed, but the difference, at least right now, is that Allen looks a lot better at the plate.
CF: Zimmer–Bradley Zimmer can’t be a free agent until 2024. One would have to assume he’ll stay the center fielder unless he’s slowed down by injury. He’s elite defensively, but his bat leaves a lot to be desired. The Indians need him to bat around .260, not .220.
RF: Benson–Will Benson, the first-round pick in the 2016 draft, is struggling with Class A Lake County, but he’s still a nice prospect with tons of upside.
Benson’s only 19 and still learning the game. He’s batting for power (nine home runs) but hitting just .198. Patience will be key.
