Kevin Love

Gone are the days of Kevin Love playing second and third fiddle.

With Kyrie Irving and LeBron James no longer in the same locker room, Love will become the focal point of Ty Lue’s offense.

Kevin Love averaged 26-12 in the season before arriving to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the trade that sent No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins to the Timberwolves.

During the four years James and Love spent together, it often felt like Love never inserted himself into the offense the way everyone hoped he would.

Too often, it seemed like he was just hanging around the perimeter waiting to catch and shoot from beyond the arc.

Sure, 3-pointers are superb part of his game, but so are shots from the elbow, in addition to his maneuverability near the basket.

Look no further than Game 3 of this past June’s NBA Finals. For a half, the Cavs’ unleashed Love, and it was awesome to watch. Then, he disappeared.

Love dominating under the hoop, and then chilling the opposition with dagger 3’s. Ideally, that’s what Love will bring to the table with James now playing for the Lakers.
