Rajai Davis

No one wants Rajai Davis to be on the hot seat. The man’s a Cleveland treasure and will be for the rest of his life.

But with the talk of the Indians looking for center field help, Davis’ seat is warm.

He’s batting .241 (.587 OPS), and he’s on this list because something has to give with the outfield if a player is acquired.

I think the Indians are more likely to do something with Brandon Guyer if the organization acquires an outfielder because there’s something to be said for Davis’ veteran presence.

Davis can still be a threat if reaches first (16 stolen bases), plus he can play center and right field.

Right now, center field is a big problem with Bradley Zimmer‘s unproductivity and recent rip to the DL. Francisco Mejia can offer balance to the lineup in right, but he’s still young.

Will the moment be to big for the prospect who’s been developed as a catcher up until this point?

Right now, Davis certainly offers insurance, although that could change if the Indians make a trade.
