3. Luis Rivera

Luis Rivera‘s name sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

It should, Rivera was the infield coach and later first base coach from 2006-2009.

Like Wedge, he’s currently employed by the Blue Jays and serves on Gibbons’ staff as third base coach.

Rivera joined the Blue Jays’ organization long before Shapiro did, but the two baseball men’s roots run deep.

He joined the Tribe’s organization as a coach in 2000, just as Shapiro was ready to take over the GM reigns from John Hart.

He primary coached A-ball before being promoted to help coach the big-league club during the 2006 campaign.

Odds: The only way I see this is if Toronto stays within the organization and Wedge turns the job down.
