6 Cleveland Browns whose stock is up after preseason loss to Buffalo Bills
5. Nick Chubb, RB
Nick Chubb came nothing close to resembling the game changing player he was at the University of Georgia during the Browns’ first preseason game.
He appeared impatient trying to bounce outside too early, which was obviously a product of poor blocking on the offense line.
Chubb was much better in Week 2, hitting holes, running “down hill” as described by Browns legendary QB and current sideline analyst Bernie Kosar.
Chubb’s got to be refreshed after this performance especially after first-string back Carlos Hyde was so successful with the rushing attack in the first quarter.
He capped off his night with a 1-yard touchdown run and had 11 carries for 53, making for a 4.7 yards per carry average. His longest run of the night went for 17 yards.
Chubb’s performance, along with the stellar home debut of Hyde is huge for the Browns because as much as fans love debating quarterbacks, this team needs its rushing attack to be formidable to have any type of chance of even going 7-9 this season.
