6 Cleveland Browns whose stock is up after preseason loss to Buffalo Bills
6. Devon Cajuste, TE
The Browns were 0-6 on third downs and were facing third and long (thanks to a penalty) and then Baker Mayfield decided to look for Devon Cajuste.
Cajuste moved the chains and more with a nice catch after the run as FirstEngergy Stadium shouted “CAJUUUUUUUUUSTE!”
It was another play for the underdog who’s fighting to make the team after being cut twice since trying to enter the league in 2016.
Cajuste caught just one pass for 26 yards, but the implications were huge as the play eventually led to three points.
Not bad on a night when Browns quarterbacks only completed 11 passes (Drew Stanton completed zero throws).
It’s worth noting tight end Darren Fells started the game at fullback, while Seth DeValve has yet to play in a preseason game as injuries have kept him from performing.
Cajuste’s probably a longshot, but the odds of him of making the team have to be better than they were two weeks ago.
His night was setback by an offensive pass interference, but that seemed to be something affecting more than just him as the team incurred three OPI calls on the night.
The Browns need guys who make plays. Cajuste made one, so his stock is up, albeit slightly.
