If the Baltimore Ravens don’t keep Stanley Jean-Baptiste, the Cleveland Browns should seriously consider picking him up.

Jean Baptiste is still on the bubble even after leading Baltimore’s defense with a 31.3 game grade, in preseason Week 3, according to Pro Football Focus.

It bodes well for a defensive back when a quarterback doesn’t throw his direction, and that’s been the story on Jean-Baptiste, who’s been targeted just once in 27 defensive snaps entering the preseason finale.

Rookie Denzel Ward has a firm hold on one of the Browns’ starting jobs, and it appears as if Terrance Mitchell has seized the other.

Briean Boddy-Calhoun played some safety and could help out there in a pinch, but for Week 1, he seems to have solidified his role as the top nickel defensive back.

Depth was bolstered this offseason with the additions of T.J. Carrie and E.J Gaines. GM John Dorsey will also have to consider Mike Jordan and rookie Simeon Thomas.

Jean-Baptiste was a second-round pick in 2014. He has two passes deflections and an interception this preseason.

Jean-Baptiste, 28, has been a part of five different organizations, with all stops ending the same way: The Nebraska product looking for a new job.

But he’s played well in practice and in games.

The four-game suspension of corner Jimmy Smith may be enough to keep him on the roster, but if not, Dorsey should come calling.
