Josh Gordon vs. Marshon Lattimore

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley will certainly put a point of emphasis on actually trying to get the ball to his best offensive player, right?

You wouldn’t know that from Week 1, when Gordon was targeted just three times despite being on the field for 69 snaps. Yikes!

A lot of that’s attributable to Taylor’s performance at quarterback. Drew Brees almost targeted his No. 1 receiver, Michael Thomas, 17 times. The former Buckeye rewarded his quarterback with 16 catches.

Lattimore is one of the best young corners in the game who usually covers the Browns’ best receiver. Some might argue he’d be better off covering Jarvis Landry.

Although Landry is the Browns’ most consistent receiver, Gordon’s still the biggest game-changing threat, which leads me to believe he’ll draw Lattimore in coverage.

Ken Crawley will likely matchup against Landry.

Gordon and Taylor’s chemistry will be on the forefront of everyone’s minds because Gordon missed most of training camp while getting his life in order.

Perhaps a lack of reps led to Taylor underthrowing Gordon a couple of times on what should have been sure fire touchdown passes.

Even the touchdown Gordon caught was kind of plucked away from the head of the corner covering him.

Gordon’s still the Browns’ best player on offense and bad game from No. 12 likely means Cleveland won’t be unlocking the Bud Light Fridge.
