4. David Peralta, Diamondbacks

Arizona may shit toward the future this offseason, which could make left fielder David Peralta available.

If I were the Indians, I’d be really interested to see what kind of market is taking shape for Peralta, a player who’s already 31.

Like Schwarber, Peralta’s under team control for the next three seasons.

Peralta had a career year in 2018, belting 30 homers while hitting .293. Prior to this season’s home-run total, the most Peralta had ever hit in a single campaign was 17 back in 2015.

Whomever the Diamondbacks acquire, that player won’t need to be good for another two years when Arizona is expected to start contending again.

So with that in mind, perhaps Arizona would find pitcher Adam Plutko or short stop Yu Chang attractive. These aren’t top-shelf prospects, but they’re certainly decent prospects.

Someone like Plutko is under team control for the foreseeable future and has nothing left to prove at the minor league level. Chang, who is listed as a shotstop/third baseman could also probably help next season. Both could be core pieces of the future.
