4. Trade tsunami is coming

Ok, I say the trade tsunami is coming, and it will happen, but when is the question.

It’s better for the Cavs to hold onto their players for a little while longer, and wait for other teams to get desperate.

With that said, the veterans on this team don’t seem real happy right now, and you definitely don’t want bad vibes infecting the young players on the roster.

Between Altman’s words about being in player development, and then his move to fire Lue, it’s clear the veterans on this team are just placeholders.

Kyle Korver will be the easiest to move. He’s relatively cheap by NBA standards and he possesses the hottest commodity in the game in that he can make 3’s.

George Hill makes a ton of money-due $37 million over the next two seaons– but he’s still a good player. Perhaps a contender emerges, just like the Cavaliers last season, who need a point guard.

Trading J.R. Smith will be hard, because really, he hasn’t been good for two years. He’s 32 and has $19 million remaining on his contract. Good luck, Koby.

Tristan Thompson is way overpaid and really just does one thing well: Offensive rebound. Despite things aren’t what they used to be, Thompson is still leaving it on the court, averaging 10.8 boards per contest.

Rodney Hood could also be moved, if the Cavs can trick someone into taking him. He clearly reached his ceiling in Utah and he’ll be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
