4. The Buckeyes will find success once again on the road

Playing at home versus away hasn’t been a big concern for the Buckeyes over the years. Whether the game is home or away isn’t usually what the big concern is when it comes to this team as they’ve had just as big of away victories this season as they’ve had poorly executed games at home.

The Buckeyes have scored at least 30 points in every home game this season. They are averaging 48 points at home and just 28 points on the road.

The Bucks have been one of the top offenses in the nation in production but have hit some road blocks when outside familiar territory. However, they have continued to win on the road where they’ve won some of their biggest games aside from a let down loss to a Purdue team that has turned out to be very good.

These struggles on offense showed up in full last weekend as the Buckeyes didn’t score a single point until late in the first half. They took the field for several empty drives as Haskins could not seem to get rhythm going down the field. He was under pressure most of the game as the Spartans sacked him twice and their defense accounted for nine tackles for loss.

Fortunately, Haskins did not concede any turnovers. Not turning the ball over was one of the keys going into this game as he had went on a small streak of throwing an interception before this match up. The lack of turnovers from the Buckeyes’ offense was one of the main reasons they were victorious as ball control and field position superiority ruled.

The Terrapins are 25th in total defense which doesn’t put them in the worst of positions. There are far worse out there in terms of defensive integrity but they certainly aren’t near the best. It’s not going to be easy by any means for the Buckeyes to move the ball especially with their inconsistency so they will have to certainly not take this team lightly. Expect the Buckeyes to find their momentum again on the road this weekend.
