4 reasons Cleveland Browns will end road losing streak vs Bengals
1. Bengals are fading
Cincinnati got off to a fast start, as they usually do in the fall, but once the whether in southern Ohio starts to get colder, the Bengals always seem to fall off as either Pittsburgh or Baltimore emerges as the divisional alpha dog.
The Bengals couldn’t stop a Ravens team that was really no threat to throw last week against the Ravens. In their previous loss, Drew Brees and Michael Thomas embarrassed Marvin Lewis‘ team, at home no less, having up 51 points in one of the biggest blowouts of the season.
Add it all up and the Bengals have lost four of their last five. They infamously fired their defensive coordinator and basically replaced him with former Browns’ head coach Hue Jackson.
The Browns just so happen to be getting this matchup at the right time. Following a dominant win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10, Interim coach Gregg Williams appears to have steadied the ship following the firings of Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
The Bengals also head into this one with some injury concerns. A.J. Green is listed as questionable, having missed Cincinnati’s last two games with a toe injury. The Bengals aren’t giving up on him playing but as of Friday, he hadn’t practiced all week.
Left tackle Cordy Glenn and corner Dre Kirkpatrick are also listed a questionable. If the Bengals are without all three of these guys–and neither one of these guys practiced Friday– the Browns will have been dealt a significant advantage.
