Mitchell is back

T.J. Carrie‘s been OK filling in for Terrance Mitchell, but now the Browns are getting the player they designated for the IR back.

The hope of a playoff appearance is gone, but now we’ll get a better idea as to whether Mitchell can be the same player he was before the injury.

Because if he can be, the Browns will look pretty solid next season heading into camp with Mitchell and Denzel Ward as their starting corners.

For this week, Mitchell will be needed because Ward is still feeling the reverberations of a concussions suffered against the Texans.

And with Newton struggling to throw the ball deep, Gregg Williams certainly doesn’t want to make it easy on the banged up veteran.

Mitchell was a key force in igniting the Browns as a takeaway monster earlier in the season.

His ascension was a bit surprising considering Carrie and E.J. Gaines were brought in by GM John Dorsey to compete for the starting job.

Mitchell, though, proved to be a relentless competitor, especially when tasked with covering Jarvis Landry through the lens on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
