It wasn’t Nick Chubb‘s best game of the year, but the back really poured it on when the Browns were in search of big runs to put the game on ice.
Look no further than Chubb’s dash with 4:30 remaining in the fourth quarter. At that point, Cleveland was looking to chew up some clock and possibly get a field goal. Well, Chubb did his best to help accomplish the former.
This big rush helped Chubb end the game with exactly 100 yards on 20 attempts.
It’s interesting to note that Williams went with Duke Johnson more often late in the first half and early in the second.
Perhaps it was all about preserving Chubb, to keep his legs fresh. This contest marked the third time this season Chubb’s hit the century mark in rushing yards. He now has 860 yards on the season and pending a disaster, the rookie should cross the 1,000-yard threshold in the season finale.
If there was a downside to Chubb’s game in the victory, it’s that he didn’t catch a pass and was only targeted once. If the Browns could get him room in space, wow, the possibilities are endless.
